Bizzare street stuff : The first set is of a ritual some fellow was doing at the beach. Looks like some sort of Satanic deal to me. In the second set of images... I was not going to post these, but then they are photographs. I decided to pull Daniel out of school and go for a hike in the angeles national Forrest since we had not been on a good hike in while. I grabbed by ME SUPER and took off...I wish I had taken my digital with Long lens, but who knew...While Hiking a creek we came across some voodoo dolls hanging on the trees and as we looked up ahead, we found a group of people practicing true Santeria...They where doing animal sacrifice and putting the blood on these peoples head to ''cleanse'' them...It was creepy to me and horrible. All I could do is pray for these people. Anyway here are some images. Wrong lens and these are heavily cropped as they are quick scans. I will not post the slaughtering of the animals though. So ugly...They ended up scaring us away as they did not like their pictures taken....but I kept shooting. Here we have the black witch and the white witch. Notice the snake..

Westlake streets in L.A. : I have spent much of the day going through photographs I made on Saturday during my walk in Westlake Village. What a dirty and ugly place it is.. It was hard to shoot as people where giving me the evil eye as if I was the Police...Of course, there was plenty of illegal activity going on all around from selling bootleg dvd's to music cd's to everything else you can image..... There was also an Anti American protest going on that failed. K20D with Tokina 20-35mm lens...

Mac Arthur park, Los Angeles : Mac Arthur park is a dirty park located in the heart of Los Angeles. Frankly it breaks my heart. I can see where the city has gone though great lengths to upgrade it and clean it up as is evidenced by all the new things. The problem is that it is also home to hundreds if not thousands of illegal immigrants, many of who do not care enough to take care of this park. I will try and show the good like precious family's out and about enjoying the day. All images made with the Pentax K20D and Tamron 28-75F/2.8

Redondo beach by train : Pentax K20D with Tokina 20-35 F/3.5-4.5 lens. I took my first train ride / subway ride to Redondo beach and I must say it was fun. It took nearly 3 hours to get there, when by car takes appx 30 minutes or so, but I did see some interesting people and sites along the way. Enjoy.....

K1OOO tour : Hmmm, These pictures where made using my Pentax K1000 with a Pentax 50f/2.0 lens and tri-x 400 This camera traveled The U.S. and Canada where members of Photo.net each made 2 pictures with it. All in all it traveled for nearly 1 year!!! Here are the images that various folks made. As soon as I know more, I will add it here..Enjoy

Velvia 50 misc images : Pentax ME-F, Tokina 17mm ultra wide angle lens and Velvia 50 slide film. Processing and scanning done by Samy's camera in Pasadena... This was indeed my first roll of slide film. A misc collection of images to see what it was like, I love it and may have discovered my new favorite color film...There is quite a bit of vignetting that has never shown up with conventional film using this exact same set up...I will need to look into that, but I suspect it is caused by the films sensitivity..

San Gabriel river : Pentax K20D with Tamron 28-300 super zoom. Pentax ME Super, M40F/2.8, Kodak Ektar 100 film Normally the San Gabriel river has quite a bit more water. I have never seen it so low. At the same time, I have never seen so many birds out, especially in the middle of a hot day. Still, next I go, I will go with some long glass and hit it at dawn to catch the good light and active birds.

Kodak throw away film camera : These are truly some snap shots I took with this.''use once and throw away'' camera... Just something I had to try out as I had never used one before. While the image quality was not great, it was better than I thought it would be. I bought another one and have started to shoot it. This time I will pay attention to the light and composition.

Home to some of the wealthiest, most famous people in the world... you would think they would have a cleaner nicer beach, but I guess this makes them feel more normal...Here I am having a cow because I had to pay $14.00 for parking when the sign said $4.00 (but in fine print, ''if'' you eat at the expensive restaurant)...Anyway. enjoy...I did catch one celeb, see if you can spot her.
